THE HISTORY OF OUR GYM

Our beginnings started with three moms that wanted to start a new competitive cheer program in Desoto county Mississippi and in 2013 DeSoto Dreamz Elite was born. In 2017, DeSoto Dreamz Elite joined forces with Memphis Elite to make Memphis Elite DeSoto. In 2018, Coach Lauren split from Memphis Elite DeSoto, began MidSouth Extreme Cheer & Dance, and led the program for 5 seasons. In 2023, Coach Donald acquired leadership of the program. With the addition of gymnastics, and the possibility of adding more sports, Coach Donald decided to honor the history of the program by keeping the name "MidSouth Extreme", while embracing the future possibilty of multiple sports with the addition of "Athletics". He gave it the name, “MidSouth Extreme Athletics”, which debuted during the 2023-2024 season. Consequently, the '23-'24 season was the program's first season competing Elite levels 1, 2, & 3, simultaneously. In the 2024-2025 season, MSEA will be adding a level 4 squad. The future looks EXTREMEly bright.
